Japanese Lilac Tree

The Japanese Lilac trees scientific name is Syringa reticula. Whith its shiny bark and vase-like structure, this tree can fill a space in a lot of the way the flowering cherries do in the warmer sites. Its creamy yellow flowers are later than the other lilacs, extending even further into the flowering season.

This tree is very easy to care and nurture. It will grow with little care, but will much prefer the soil sweetened with lime and some rich loam. If you feel an urge to prune can form its many arching stems into shapes that please you. If you take off the wilted flower heads, you will be rewarded by having even more flowers the following year!
