Ash trees are distant cousins from Olive trees. Over 65 Ash trees are located in North America. They have opposite compound leaves and very stout twigs. Like maples, ashes have winged seeds called samaras. Ashes also have very supplyable wood, because it is flexable and supplies wood for making tool handles and other parts of tools.
Another name for an ash tree is "Fraxivus exelsior". Ashes are truly native in Great Britain and throughout the greater part of Europe. Allusions of the ash tree are throughout Europe. The tough saplings were naturally chosen by both Greeks and Romans for their spears.
Ash trees grow fast compared with oaks, but are damaged by autumn and spring blizzards. In the autumn white ashes turn purple leaf colors and green ashes turn golden leaf colors. They provide many homes for insects like other trees, but some insects can kill it.
